Registration Guide

What is ROLLNO31?

ROLLNO31 is a platform for Indian educational institutions. Students, teachers, and administrators use it to manage classrooms, assignments, events, attendance, and the day-to-day operations of an institution. It is designed for institutions of all sizes — from a single-branch school to a multi-campus university.

Who can register?

Registration is open to institutions, not individuals. The following institution types are supported:

  • Schools (K-12)
  • Junior Colleges / +2 (PUC, Intermediate)
  • Undergraduate Colleges (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, etc.)
  • Universities
  • Vocational Institutes and Polytechnics
  • Coaching Centers

Individual teachers or students do not register directly. Once your institution is approved, staff and students join through your institution's invite link or code.

What you will need before you start

Have these ready before filling the registration form:
  • Full institution name — exactly as it appears on your accreditation documents
  • Official email address — the institution's primary contact email; personal email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not recommended
  • Contact number — STD code plus landline or mobile number
  • Institution type — select from the list above
  • Accreditation number — optional but recommended:
    • code for colleges and universities (issued by the Ministry of Education)
    • code for schools
  • Full postal address — including district, state, and PIN code
  • Name of the primary administrator — the person completing this form; usually the Principal, Vice Principal, Registrar, or Trustee. This person will hold the Alpha Admin role after approval.

What happens after you submit?

  1. Your application enters a review queue. A super-admin on the ROLLNO31 team reviews every application. Average turnaround is two business days.
  2. The super-admin verifies your institution details against public records. If you provided an AISHE or UDISE code, this speeds up verification.
  3. You receive an email at the address you registered with. The email confirms approval or explains the reason for rejection. If rejected, you may reapply after correcting the issue.
  4. Once approved, you log in and land on the Alpha Admin dashboard. From here you begin setting up your institution.

After approval — setting up your institution

Complete these steps in order. Each step builds on the previous one.

  1. Complete your institution profile

Add your logo, motto, and a brief description. This is what students and staff see when they join.
  2. Create Departments

For example: Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, Arts. A school might use streams: Science, Commerce, Humanities.
  3. Create Batches under each department

For example: CS 2024-2028, Commerce 2023-2025. Batches represent a cohort or academic year group.
  4. Create Classrooms inside batches

For example: CSE-A, CSE-B for section-wise grouping within a batch.
  5. Invite Staff members

Add teachers and non-teaching staff. Each staff member receives an email invitation.
  6. Students join via invite link or code

Share your institution's invite link with incoming students. Each student registers using the link, and you approve them from the admin panel.
